2020 Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings

1. Clyde Edwards-Helaire – RB:

1. Number of times since 04’ Andy Reid had a top 10 fantasy RB : 12. In 5 of those 12 seasons, his RBs had over 300 touches. Except heavy usage for CEH on one of the most explosive offenses.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is set to have a huge rookie year, if past Chiefs running back stats are any indication.

2. D’Andre Swift – RB:

Swift finds himself in a backfield behind Kerryon Johnson who is coming off an injury last season. Swift’s ability to catch passes out of the backfield will add a dimension to this backfield, and could help him earn more carries as the season progresses.

3. Jalen Reagor – WR:

Jalen Raegor doesn’t carry the same pre draft hype that guys like Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb do, and rightfully so. However on an Eagles team that was decimated at the WR position last season and add in the departure of Agholor and aging Desean Jackson and Alshon Jeffrey; I think Reagor has a chance at an immediate role in a Wentz led offense.

4.Jerry Jeudy – WR:

Jeudy may have found himself higher up on this list had he gone to a team with a more experienced NFL QB. Nonetheless expect Jeudy to be lining up along side Courtland Sutton as the Broncos primary pass catchers.

5.CeeDee Lamb – WR:

A Super Bowl appearance has been on an aging Jerry Jones’ mind for a few years now and his 1st rd pick of CeeDee Lamb adds to that. In a receiving core that already features Gallup and Cooper, CeeDee could find himself in favorable matchups the first half of the season.

6.Johnathon Taylor – RB:

While going into the draft Taylor was ranked highest among the RBs, his stock took a little bit of a hit post draft. Pros: the Colts O-line is elite. Cons: he will have to share a backfield with Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines. If Taylor can develop a role in the passing game his value will increase.

7.Joe Burrow – QB:

The Bengals still have one of the weaker O-lines in the league, but they are taking steps in the right direction. Burrow should have plenty of offensive tools (Joe Mixon, AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, John Ross and Tee Higgins) and an offensive minded coach like Zac Taylor to help him succeed in year one.

8.Henry Ruggs III – WR:
Theres no questioning that Ruggs can burn corners off the line. The question mark that lies in front of Ruggs is the play of QB Derek Carr. Carr hasn’t been known to stretch the ball down the field in past years, but a deep threat with speed like Henry Ruggs III could be the encouragement he needs to throw the ball downfield. Don’t expect a Hill-Mahomes like connection, but Ruggs will be atop his WR draft class this season.

9.Justin Jefferson – WR:

I think the Vikings work on creating a more balanced offense this season. That and the departure of Diggs to Buffalo should provide Jefferson with his fair share of targets. His ability to line up out wide and in the slot should make him an ideal target for a QB like Kirk Cousins.

10.Cam Akers – RB:

The Rams went from being in the super bowl 2 years ago and having the top running back in the league to missing the playoffs last year and releasing their star back. Cam Akers is a wild card for top rookies, but I don’t believe the Rams see Darrell Henderson as a 3 down back and drafting Akers with their first pick could be further evidence of that. Opposite the previously mentioned Vikings, I believe the Rams are going to put more emphasis on the run game and using Akers and Henderson in tandem could help take some pressure off Goff.
